just thought id share a story of my recent conquest in my 2006 f-250 psd.
i should preface this story by saying that back when i was in highschool (4 years ago now) my friends and i started this prank where we would steel and stock up road cones and baracades and anything we could. then at night we would to a semi main road (35mph road) and block off the road with the cones and signs. hoping that some idiot at 2am would be drunk or half asleep and plow through the cones/signs/shopping carts and screw up there cars, or slam on the brakes and swerve off the road. well what goes around comes around! i work for ups, i start work at about 3:30am. so yesterday at about 3 am ish im driving to work (half asleep of course) going down union ave which is semi main 35mph road. i got somthing in my eye so i have one hand on the wheel and one rubbing my eye. when out of the corner of my eye i see a little bit of orange. and im thinking is that a cone? so i look up and to my surprise the intire road is coned off. let me say these are large cones, about 4 feet tall and backed up by wood construction signs. so at this point im about 30-40 feet away going about 35mph. so i wake up then stand on the brakes (first time) and after expecting a few hundred dollars in body damage, i shockingly stop with about 3 feet left! after being angry that when i stoped and looked ahead and saw the there was obviously no road construction going on. i was impressed,my 2001 f-250 would have plowed through those things like the bandit goes through mail boxes. these new brakes are great! just one more reason i drive a ford!
thanks for taking the time guys
keep it ford
Well, the thought occurs to me: What if one of the "drunk or half asleep" guys happened to swerve and lose control, roll it and be killed? How cool would that have been?
And "screw up their cars" could prove very costly for collison repair.
All for the fun of high school pranks.
I would have kept this to myself and hope no one ever found out.
I got a good buddy that grew up in New Mexico, Every year, they'd steal Christmas lights off somebodies house, and run them across a street and tie the off so they'd be hanging in the air about three feet. When a car would come, they'd plug them into the side of the house and scare the living **** out of the unsuspecting driver... I wouldn't like my lights stolen, but I think that's pretty damn funny...
Not add anything to "the stupidity of youth," but I sing a happy song every time my foot buzzes from the ABS. My 8000-lb SuperDuty stops shorter and faster than my 4700-lb Chevy 1/2 ton EVER did. A testament to the high quality of the SD brakes, and the absolutely SORRY brakes on the Chevy.
i dont think its funny anymore if someone gets hurts or the vehicle gets damaged...someone riding on a motorcycle could easily get killed and any kind of body damage costs hundreds of dollars
