Popping dash
Enough is enough!!! I am tired of listening to this dash pop when the air conditioning in on in the summer, and when the heat is on in winter. I know ford has a tech bulletin on this but I can't find it. does anyone know what causes this in the early 90s trucks? I have a 1993 Standard cab 150 and it drives me crazy and scares the bejeezus out of the passengers.

LOL mine does it too. 93 F150 xcab.
I read something about the mount under the passenger side kick pannel allways breaks, I put in a piece of metal there in mine it helped a little...

My '92 did the exact same thing... Riding down the road and then "bang" sound like something broke... anyway, I experimented with the tension on the bolts at the top the dash loosening them just enough to keep the dash from rattling but allowing the dash to move as it warmed up or cooled down. It helped...

There is a TSB on this, but I can't find my copy. It involves taking the dash pad on the right side off & putting polyethelyne tape between the pad & dash. It's slippery & allows movement of the two w/o binding. I bet you could find the TSB with a search of the site.
