Nobody seems to make washer fluid pumps for 1969 Fords anymore, but I found an almost perfect substitute. There is a part made (of course I threw out the box with the part number) for GM, Chrysler, and VW that is almost exactly the same as the one that was on my truck. Identify it on the shelf by looking for the white plastic threaded inlet tube.
The only differences are that the outlet nozzle is rotated 90 degrees, the pump housing is black, and the connector is different. However, the old wire can snipped off of your old pump and crimp connectors placed on for a custom fit. Special thanks to the parts store guy who performed this surgery at the counter for no charge.
I got a universal washer pump for $10.00, and used a radiator overflow tank that cost $5.99 for a fluid canister, and it works great. The only thing is My special "Prestone Bug & Tar" washer fluild looks just like antifreeze, so people think I got my hoses mixed up.
Thanks for the tip jon69! I pulled one out while I was at the junkyard, but never got around to putting it in. Which reminds me...Do you just turn the wiper **** to the left? (I need to look for current to find the connector.)
I found a universal pump that would have worked also, but it would have involved leaving the old non-functioning pump in place as a fitting and then running the new pump "in-line" somewhere down the hose. It sounded ugly to me, but maybe there are some universals that actually replace the old pump.
As for turning the wiper ****, mine turns (can't remember which direction) to turn on the wipers and you push it in to get fluid.
Also, I found the receipt and the BC Carquest store part number is CWP 151-507. I don't remember the manufacturer of the pump.
