My First Ford P/U
Hi guys, my name is craig, I just purchased my first ford pickup
Its a 1996 ford f-250 xl 351 automatic It has 255000k miles on it.
It runs strong and has no major issues.
One question was.....When shifting in to drive it engages normal but when put into reverse it takes about 2 seconds to engage...is this normal?

after 255,000,000 miles you are lucky it shifts at all!
that does sound about right, some shift a little quicker.
good luck with your 255,000 mile truck.
change the fluid if in doubt, drain convertor, replace filter and put in new fluid.
