While answering a pet peeve thread I realized I need to ask this.
Is there ANYTHING I can do to stop those seatbelts from slapping the wall all the time. On long trips I just tape them up but that's kind of a stop gap measure and a hassle for the drivers side belt and probably dangerous somehow. I want my windows open but that slapping is bothering me to no end.
This bothers me a lot, also... just yesterday I was driving with mine and passenger side window down... passenger belt goes to flapping and slapping. I buckeled it and it stopped some... but not completely. Then even mine will still flap when I'm wearing it.
Besides just buckeling them up, place the "over the shoulder part" under the head rest toward the center of the seat. But on older sloppy, wore out trucks; A tennis ball between the belt and the wall might work. My old Dodge 4x4 van was the same way, and I would put a bungee cord attached to it behind the seat since I never had passengers.
i have this problem all the time. i love riding with all four windows all the way down to hear my exhaust. my remedy for the slapping rear belts is to put up each rear window about 6". it gets rid of the slapping, but you can still hear your exhaust.
i just wrapped a small towel around the belt and taped it so when it hits the door molding it wont make any noise
aww you da man! i think im going out tonight and doing that. do you have it so that it will not affect the usage of the belts? you can pull the belt out and use it and it will not pull the towel and catch in the "pulley"?
Hmm, perhaps a piece of towel, neatly cut, to absorb some impact? Figure out some way to secure it to the wall and still look superduty...
Or! What about putting a piece of wood or something halfway down the wall to stop the slapping completely. Just something straight across to take the force of the blow.

i just taped it loosely around the belt so the belt would slide up and down easily but i like dcf's idea where you just tape the towel right to the door molding. i dont think that would look as bad as having a towel hang off your belts and it would still get rid of the flappage
