Did I Do Something Wrong?

I think it is just my mind but it seems that my 6.9 is getting louder since i sold my 04 chevy 1/2 ton (due to reliability issues) it had 40K miles on it and i have had to do close to 3k worth of work to be able to drive it. what i was wondering is? is it gonna hurt my 86 to start driving her every day. its got 107K miles on it and has no issues what so ever, even though its 20 years old. I sold my other truck cuz it wouldnt stay out of the shop. Have I done a bad thing?

Drive it and enjoy it would be my advise............ Just do the fuel additives every tank since the new zero sulfur fuels are on the way.......

At 107,000, it's just getting broke in, it will be fine.

I agree with Felro86, if taken care of you are just starting the trip, you have a long way to go before you hit the junk pile! My 7.3l IDI just crossed 234,000, and it's still not showing weakness. Just do your routine maintinence, and keep up on minor repairs like glow plugs ETC.

As said above the 6.9l is barely broken in.

The only thing that might hurt you a bit is the addtional cost for fuel as the 6.9l trucks did not have overdrive transmissions.
