Need help to diagnose tranny problem

Ive got the 5 speed....theres a clunky 'ting' when I shift gears as at low rpm and let the clutch out fast. Its a noise derrived from play somwhere in my driveline between my clutch and the tailshaft on the T-case. The noise sounds exactly like it is a sloppy U-joint, but its not, all U-joints are tight. Leaving me to think there are bearings that are cooked inside somewhere....but I am unfamiliar with transmissions. Its hard for me to explain, but if you can try to vizualize the 'play' in my driveline between the time when my driveline goes from being driven by the tires & momentum of my truck....to the time when my driveline is driving the wheels using the power of the engine. I hope that helps you help me help my truck.

Sounds like your DMF (Dual Mass Flywheel) bearings are seperating, or a broken spring. If so, replace it with a single mass (conventional) flywheel. If you are not putting down BIG power with a bunch of mods, I would go with a LUK kit. Check with Carolina Clutch (Site Sponsor). They have pretty good pricing and are very helpful, friendly and fast sevrice.
