Haywire windshield wipers

My windshield wipers just flip on once in awhile. There apears to be no aperant reason. Some time its just once, and then the last time it did like 3 times right in a row. I didnt turn anything on or touch anything to make me think that theres a short with somthing else....Any ideas.

MF switch. Known issues with the multifunction switch on the steering column, (turn signal lever with the wiper controls.) I haven't had to repair this part, but there are quite a few threads about this with instructions on how to change/repair it.

You can probly live with the problem for a while but it will get worse. The MF switch also controls the headlights. When my switch went bad it was a progressive thing. First I would have to play with the switch for my lights to work, then my low beams quit working all together.

There was a recall on the wiper motor cover a few years back. It has the wrong dielectric grease in the cover and can short and make the wipers come on. I had mine changed they just put a new cover on it.
