Egt Temps

just wondering what kinda temps people are getting Temperature wise at the manifold and downpipe ....I just had a reflash too weeks ago and went from 450 to averaging almost 600F at the downpipe driving around town no load nor trailer...average outside temp 75F low humidity...also at this time was the switch over to Low Sulfur diesel can this be related ?

pulling 29ft travel trailer 800 deg with foot in it , and when i let off 1k+

so did you ask them what mods...the airbox and exhaust did this ???
because if you have had no program on it ask them did the other modes void the warrnty ? i would first take it another dealer....thenif that does not work decide if you want to pay a lawyer or a mechanic.. sound like you have a long road ahead. sorry to here it, good luck

I'm also running a post-turbo pyro on the downpipe. 600-700 normal driving, but it climbs real fast when I stomp it with the SCT. Be careful with pre vs post turbo installs. I was a little concerned at first because all of the gurus on the forums say to run the pyro pre-turbo on the manifold to get the most accurate readings. They do have a valid point as the EGT's will run substantially hotter at the manifold. But, after having it awhile, I pay more attention to the rate of climb than the actual temps. My gauge is color-code and adjusted for post-turbo numbers. (The directions call for a post-turbo install). Green till about 875, yellow then red at 950.If you run anything over that post turbo for any length of time, you're asking for a melted piston.

Duramaxkiller, I'm a little confused. Do you have both manifold an downpipe installs? If you have a manifold install your top EGT would be about 1200.

Error in my numbers

In my last post I made an error in my numbers on my pyro gauge. Yellow starts out at 850 and red starts at 1100, all post turbo. Sorry for the mistake.

DM killer, just wondering where you are located account I have a few friends who work at various dealerships on the west coast... dealerships who are customer friendly, but that won't help when you are a few thousand miles away, but it was worth a try.
