I'm restoring a 67 f-100 and installing a 351W with a c-6 transmisson, and was wandering what the holes in the frame were for. The transmisson cross member has two sets of hole in the frame and the motor mount brackets has two sets also. With the motor mount brackets in the front holes the transmisson does not match any of the cross member holes. I don't have the front cap on yet so not sure if the fan is to close to the radiator. Thanks for any input.
worn,
I thought the 351W bolts upto a C4? Do you have a small block C6? The small block C6 is longer than the C4, therfore, two sets of holes for the crossmember. If you have a choice mount your engine as far back as possible. Your driveshaft should help you figure that out. Either way, the fan will not impede on the radiator. The fan shroud must come back 6 inches from the radiator, giving you plenty of space.

The frame holes are for what you suspect...installing different engines and transmissions. You will need a set of 302 engine perches to do the job right. I note that the rear of the engine will probably be pretty close to the firewall when installed properly. The tranny cross-member may or may not line up with the existing set of holes. Bear in mind that the 302/351 engines were not offered in 67. I hope this helps.
Thanks for the info, just wanted to confirm what I thought. I got a good deal on the engine and transmisson thats why I'm using them. I'll be posting other problems as I go along , please reply!
