hard starting
Just today I went to start my truck up and i had to try three times before it finally started. It ran fine once it started but something must be wrong. Does anyone know what would cause this?
I have a 99 explorer sport with a 4.0 v6.

If this becomes routine, try cycling the key on for 3-5 seconds (don't start the engine), then off, repeat about 5 times, then try to start. If this takes care of the problem then you are loosing too much fuel pressure when the vehicle is off. This can be caused by a bad fuel injector or a bad check valve in the fuel system.
