Howdy and welcome!

I have the exact same pickup that is being converted as I write this. Here is what is happening with mine and what I purchased. I got a power steering gearbox from a 77 F150 4x4. I went to a local parts place and got a power steering pump and new lines. I also went to a junk yard and got a lower steering shaft and cooling line.

All this was taken to a buddy who is also a welder and has done this before. He has removed the manual steering box and is mounting the power steering box right up to where the pannard bar hooks to the frame.

The spare shaft I purchased is going to be shortened to fit the application.

The only issue that we have run into is the drag link... It needs to be adjusted slightly. I'll upload some picts I took of a pickup that has this setup and that we used as a template.

I know there are some that suggest having the box reworked so that the pitman arm goes the right way when reversed. When I called on this, it was an expensive process. My fear was and is that if the reworked box failed, I couldn't go down to any old parts house and get one. Kinda scared me.

I should be getting my truck back this week. I'll let you know how it goes.

If you've not already done so, post some pictures of your rig. I'd like to see them.

Hope this helps

Jeremy
