Steering colunm intermediate shaft CLIP ?
So we replaced, upper lower ball joints, inner and outer wheel/hub bearings, seals, camber bushings, tires and wheels, retorqued the steering box to the frame.
Removed the front bumper to welded two pieces of angle iron across the the very front of the frame to make is stronger (like the 93's plate) put the bumper back on.
Most of the play went away, so we looked it over one more before going to get an alignment and noticed the intermediate (inner) shaft moving on the steering (outer) shaft.
We pulled it and found the little "spacer" inside had broke and missing half of it. It's about 1 inch long 1/2 inch wide and sits on the inner shaft and sprung to the outer shaft.
I need to know where I could find one or any ideas on how to make one that will work.
Anyone else had the problem??
The truck is an auto f150 89 4x4 xlt xtra cab.
Thanks Mike
