well i think it is a u-joint but not sure...
when i am off of the gas going any speed below ~40 i hear a constant like squeaking noise that never stops until the truck is completely stopped
the noise seems like it is coming between the cab and the bed
any ideas what it is or anyone know if it is a u joint?
thanks
It may sound silly but my 94 has done the same thing since it was a year old. My father in law bought it new and what he has done and what I have done about every 3 months is use a 4 foot prybar and pry in between the bed and the cab where that black metal square is at the bottom and it fixes it for a few months.
It ain't silly brassy. Mine was squeaking and it took me a while to find the source. I too stuck a long pry bar in there, pushed that metal square away, and it hasn't made a sound since. Sometimes, you have to kind of.....think outside of the box. It's not always a mechanical problem.....for squeals99, I hope this is your problem as it was an easy fix and free to boot. Otherwise, good luck.
