A couple of days ago, my rig (2000 F350) developed a starting problem. It's acting as if it's too cold to start, without letting the glow plugs warm up. If it was Jan/Feb, that's what I'd expect. However, it's been mid 80's here. It just starting happening out of the blue. I'll go to start it, and it'll just crank for a while. The longest I've gone is about 15 seconds. If I shut it off, then immediately try again, it'll fire right up. However, sometimes, I'll have to try a third time.
Nothing shows up on diagnostic codes, and my local Ford techs don't seem to have a clue either. It doesn't always have this problem, but probably 4 out of 5 times it does.
Immediate help is greatly appreciated. I'm taking approx. a 3000 mi. vacation here at the end of the week, and would like to get this fixed prior to getting stranded somewhere in South Dakota.
