I just got a 1970 4x4 pick up that was abandonned by previous tenants, and since I never owned a Ford ( jeep guy ) I need help figuring out the drivetrain.
Has a v8. Type? How to find engine ID # ?
Has a auto trans. Type?
What model transfer case?
Has a coil spring high pinion front axle with a 9" rear , which is a good thing!
Thanks for the help.
David, You could help us a little, is the engine a inline 6 or a V8? Do the spark plugs look like this on each side \\// if it's a V8? Is it a 3 spd column shift, auto column shift, big long ugle stick in the floor? Give us a hint. :-)

The VIN and codes from the door tag might also prove helpful. A photo wouldn't hurt either.
