E-Brake cable swap
The axle housings were different between the two so I couldn't swap the 77 brakes to the 73 axle housing so I was forced to rebuild the 73 brakes. No big deal, but the original 77 E-brake cables ( left and right ) wouldn't work at all. I have dealt with no E brake for about a year.
We use this truck to tow the boat and parking it on the ramp with no e-brake is scaring the ***** out of me.
I have been looking for a set of cables that will work but haven't had much luck. I purchased a set that I thougth would work but they are too long. They may actually WORK but I hate to tear the rear end apart to find out. www.partsamerica.com has MANY choices...I am not sure I will be able to find a combination that will work. At this very moment I am looking at cables which came up when I searched for parts specific to the 77....but I have also searched using the 73 model specs as well.
Anyone had this delima? HELP !!

Although, the originals had a return spring on the "drum" end of the cable. The new ones did not....and they did not function. The return spring was on the WRONG END! WTF?!
That is fixed...and they do work!
