Hey is anyone out their running water/methanol injection, like the snow performance or anything like that? I would just like to know if you like it or not. I'm looking at getting one and just wanted to know some opinions out there about it. Thanks<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" /><o></o>

Cookie88 had one on his previous engine until the block cracked. (Unrelated to the water injection.)
He stated excellent control of EGT and good power with it. Since then he has replaced his engine and I don't know if he reinstalled it or not.
I mirror what Kwik says and add since u have an '02 with the PMR's be careful with water/meth mixes if u decide to use it.The meth does preignite. 80/20 mix should be safe or all
water.

Yeah I know I really need to watch what I do with those dang PMR's. I'm thinking that I am going to get the water injection to help me keep EGT down while towing the passes around here. It would just be nice to run on a higher HP setting and be able to keep the EGT down. Hey maybe I should just blow those PMR's so I can justify to my wife to get a stronger engine WITHOUT PMR's. Probley wouldnt' be a good idea, a divorce would be ALOT more money. She hates my addiction to moding this truck.
Water inection is not well suited to controlling EGT's on mountain passes. You need to be able to maintain about 20 psi boost pressure to keep it safe, and that would mean keeping it geared way down with the rpm's way up.
An upgraded intercooler would be a much better choice for your application. Expect to see around a 150-200 degree reduction from the cooler as well as the loss of a couple of pounds of peak boost.
Ok thanks for the info. Got me to think about a few things. Where is the best place to pick up a aftermarket intercooler? I have seen the 6.0 and the Banks intercooler. Just wandering what is the best way to go. Thanks for the input.
a very good kit from PureDieselPower is a 6.0 Banks Technicooler which is the best of the 6.0 coolers out there, and an upgraded turbo pipe and boot kit. however it's about $1100 i think.... also there is a funky "in-hood" Jobe Performance Intercooler that you would never see on my truck, and hypermax tapercore intercoolers should be looked into also.
The 6.0 IC will be better than the stock 7.3 unit, but I don't think it will compare to some of the aftermarket ones, like the DI one that luke mentioned. Spearco and Hypermax also make some great intercoolers.
I would bet they are alot better than the stock 6.0 but most of them come with a hefty price tag. Its something to look into though. Thanks for letting me know my options.
