My chiltons manual covers 87 to 96 but does'nt show a component locator diagram for the 89-90 4.9. They all show a coolant temp sensor in the cyl head just behind the thermostat housing. (I think thats the one for the guages/computer) For 87-88 they show a temp switch for the cooling fan between injectors 1 and 2. The illustration for the 91 models show one under the intake towards the rear between runners 5 and 6. The illustration for 92-93 points to an area between intake runners 3 and 4.
