Exclamation No power 84 460! HELP!

My truck is a 1984 F250 w/ 460, c6 auto. 128,000 KM's. Without a load, it seems to have decent power, nothing spectacular, but Nothing to worry about. I drop a 2500 lb camper on the back and it's ok from stop to about 30, but then it starts to severely lack power. Any ideas?

A good overall tuneup, swap to the pre-71 timing chain set, good tri-Y Thorley or Banks headers.

As part of the tune up you might also want to consider rebuilding the carburetor.

You might want to start that tuneup with a new fuel filter, you could be on the verge of plugging it up which will cause it to seem to have no power.

Yes I have had this type of symtom on a class C. The filter under the truck about under the drivers seat was pluged. It is sometimes hard to see because it is tucked up in the fram rail.
I see you are planing on headers. The Thorley would be a good choise as they give good lowend torque.
All the sugestons are good but I would check/replase the filter first.
Good luck
Bill
