Door locks beginning to not function

What would be the source of problem for door locks to not function. They move so I know they are getting power but not enough to engage the locks.

How did you know you were not getting enough power? You don't know anything yet according to the post. You need to hook up a DVOM to the motors and see what reading you get.

Had the same thing happen while the truck was still under warranty. When I took it into the dealer, they said the actuator linkage was out of adjustment. Since the adjustment, everything has worked great. Hope yours is a simple fix as well.

Do any of the locks work? The driver's door actuator went out on mine (2000 psd). It sounded like it was working so I checked the linkage but it all was still connected correctly. Put on a new actuator and it works great. The rear gate locking mechanism also quit, but when I checked it out it just needed some lubrication to free up the "frozen" linkage. Good luck.

Stupid question. Where are the actuators located? Inside the door?

Yup. You have to take off the door panel, etc. to get to it. It's not easily accessible and requires a lot of patience, but once you get in there you'll "see" how it all works and fits together. I purchased my actuator off ebay; I think it was about $40 (aftermarket).

yep..all 5. just replace them all. after the first one, the rest are easy. the new actuators are higher quality and your problem will be over.

OK seems ODD that all 5 are out but they all get power and make "noise" just not lock and unlock. What a PITA

I also found that my X HAD the Tow mirrors and the guy I got it from must have swaped them out with his Pickup before selling... so I need the mirrors too....

All five of mine were being replaced when I saw the truck at the dealership. They said they did all five on every older X that comes in with OE, just to be sure.
