Rare Options

Interested in some of the more rare options on these old trucks, and if anyone here has these rare options.

Some of the choices are more comon than others, Intermitent wipers should be common enough. Electric mirrors I guess will be as rare as hen's teeth.

Look forward to the responces.

I have what I think is an unusually well optioned '83 F350 XL Dually, 10,000 GVWR that was delivered as Chassis/Cab (with aftermarket installed Electric/Hydraulic Flatbed Dump Body) originally purchased by a landscaping/pool company.
It has: 460, C6, Air Conditioning, Aux. Battery, High Output Alternator, Tilt Wheel, Retractible Underhood Trouble Light, Chrome Front Bumper with Bumper Guard, Intermittent Wipers with Washer, Cruise Control, AM/FM/Stereo Cassette, Power Windows, Power Door Locks, Digital Clock, Deluxe Map/Dome Light, Vanity Mirror, Ford Plug-in Handheld Spot/Trouble Light (I think this was a Dealer Gift), Sliding Rear Window, Colored Vinyl Floormat and Wide Quick Detach Mirrors (could be aftermarket). It had a Soft Steering Wheel and a Glove Box Lock which I replaced with standard items due to their being damaged beyond repair. I added a Deluxe Instrument Panel (w/Tach and Trip Odometer). It's also equipped with Gooseneck Ball, Hitch Receiver, CB Radio, Mud Flaps, Underbed Toolbox and Aluminum Running Boards (all aftermarket). Not too shabby for a "work" truck, eh?

That is a lot of cool options there.

I left out the Ford Handheld Spotlight, The Ford Tool Kits, etc... cause I figured that no one would still have one cause they are so easily removable.

That is very cool.

I did forget the Ford CB radio, with all the controls in the microphone. Also a very cool option.

Can't wait to hear more.

I am the third owner of my 86 f-150 XL and know the orig owner who factory ordered it.It has cruse, tilt, interior lighting package and under hood retractable light, cargo light delay wipers.the door panels have carpet and pockets with chrome trim around them. Also has reading/map light and cloth headliner and the best part 302 EFI AOD.The only things that don't make it a XLT is vinyl floor and bench seat and no air.It also has fake wood dash suround and locking glove box,no clock or tach.IT also had factory wagon wheels with trim rings and bright xlt body molding with pin striping two tone blue and silver paint witch was painted four times under warranty because of peeling and its still peeling. Its been the best truck I have ever owned, the body is now falling apart and the motor leaks oil bad.If it had air I might consider restoring it but I cant do body work and if I pay someone I could get another truck for what it would cost me.

Since I bought (and ordered) mine brand new I'll even specify the list price....'83 Supercab w/ 8 ft bed 9332, XLT trim 534, 4 speed overdrive 283, 3.08 rear axle N/C, convenience group (wider inside mirror, pulse wipers, headlight-on buzzer, and vanity mirror) 87, light group (underhood, cargo, glovebox, ashtray, underdash, and overhead map) 119, air conditioning 734, super cooling radiator 86, dual fuel tanks 220, dash gauges 38,tinted glass 56, overhead clearance lights 48, upgraded "western" mirrors 84, deluxe paint (two-tone blue on white) 223, AM FM Stereo cassette 205, rear bench seat 316, cruise control 185, tilt steering wheel 110, sliding rear window 75, locking gas caps 50, heavy duty rear bumper 80...total $12, 865. I since have added front bumper guards, chrome spoke wheels, electronic tach/clock, floor mats, rear seat lift kit, and side window stainless vents. Now, I ask you....why would I want to buy a new truck? Photobucket link should take you to a pic.
