My 05 is not a lease, but my 2000 and 2002 were and they had Flowmaster exhausts and I had no problems returning the trucks. If someone wants to throw money into their lease vehicle, like it or not, its their money. I also had an FIPK 2 intake that was on both trucks and then sold it. I got my moneys worth from it. Generally, most parts of a lease need to remain stock for keeping the value and resaleability of the vehicle, but as my dealer has told me with my last two F 150's,if the exhaust is able to pass inspection, it is acceptable.
[QUOTE=tomdoggie]Are you saying you get a 400.00 deduction for a muffler? Almost as good as a kid and you dont have to buy it shoes and such.[/QUOT]
you can deduct the $400 from your taxable income. but heres the thing the tax bracets are wider than $400.so in reality it doesnt brang you much, mabe $3. its all percentage. now $400 here and $400 there sure adds up in a hurry, but i dont think putting exhuast on a least for taxes is feasible. i go along with the notion that you just want them. a man will pay alot for he's wants and starts haggling for his needs. jmho
I agree- I have a work vehicle, and I have already put on step bars, leather wheel, CD-6 and tinted windows and I have no ownership whatsoever- lease or purchase- but I'm in it for 8 hours a day. Who's to say what i should or shouldn't put on it?
Should I wash it if it isn't mine? That's a waste of time!
Seems like a silly argument to me.
BTW- Buy what appreciates, lease what depreciates. Buying a truck for $30K plus? Now THAT could be seen as a waste of money too...
Not if you keep your vehicle around 9 to 10years, the depreciation is over a longer period of time., and no payments after the term of the loan. Bad argument! Keep those lease companies smiling!
True- if you keep a vehicle 9-10 years. Not many people do... If you are 3 years or less, lease. More than that, buy with a big down payment to get as low rate.
Unfortunatley back in 2004 going back 2 years would get you the old body style, sooooo that was not an option! But I agree buy the one coming off lease and still under warr.
I think the primary thing that would cause me to put several hundred bucks in add-ons on a lease (which I've wrestled with myself) is an increase in performance, mileage, or towing ability. Will that exhaust add to any of these items, aside from making sound a whole lot cooler? (I'm actually asking that for myself, too!)
