302 to 351w

alright i got an easy one for you guys. ok i have a 1969 f100, it has a 1969 or around there 302 2 barrel in it and a c6. the motor is running like hell and we have a rebuilt 1986 4 barrel 351w sitting here. the motor is semi complete with intake, carb, and manifolds, the question is what from the 302 will work on the 351. distributor, linkage, and will the c6 just bolt right to it, which flywheel to use and stuff like that. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanx

since the 302 and 351w are basically the same engine, you should be ably to direct swap them. the only thing you need to check on is the weight of the flywheel, (28 oz compared to the newer 50 oz) and exhaust manifold size. the dist, water pump, and trans are the same mounts. the biggest thing i can see in the swap is maybe fabricating a new throttle linkage to compensate for the difference in length between the 2 bbl and 4 bbl

the distributor will not work. you must use a 351w specific one

You might need some brackets to lower your accessory drive. The 351 is about an inch taller. Watch your 351 oil pan too. Some fit some don't.
