Engine noise maby y pipe????
2002 F250SD, V10 engine with 53000k on it ..
High pitched goes away with a little throtle.Thinking its in the Y pipe maby or a heat sheild....
I asume becuse the engine flexes up a little under load sound goes away..
Had a look under but could not find much...
Any ideas???

Tin Transmission inspection/access Plate is usually found to be the source
Remove, bend in the middle, reinstall, extra tension from the bend usually fixes the vibration. Some folks make a new one heavier, others stick on sound deadener materials
Could also be broken welds on some of the exhaust heat shiels.... band clamps work
And not to forget the factory "T" two to one "collector" is a piece of crap and can cause "flutter" under load at certain RPMs... fix the mechanical vibrators first..if annoying sound still present have a real "Y" pipe fabricated at a good muffler shop.
