My sliding rear window quit working. It won't move. It doesnt make any noise or budge at all from the closed position. It never gave any indication it was about to go out. Does anyone know if there is a fuse for it I'm missing or has anyone experienced this?
i had this problem once. got back in it an hour later and it worked fine, and has been since. you can try thumping around the area of the motor to see if that makes it go, or could be the switch, couldnt tell ya without bein there.
I had this problem multiple times, usually after winter when I would only use the window once every month or two. At first it would work if I hit the switch ten times or so and would be fine until I went a couple of weeks without opening it again. It ended up being a bad window motor and the dealer had to replace it.
After the next winter the same thing started happening again and I noticed some water drips and damp carpet when I would get snow on the roof that melted off slowly. I don't know if a leak was the original cause and the dealer missed it when they replaced the motor the first time or if they caused the leak when they made the repair.
I also had to have mine replaced... it quit working and then would start working again a week later, and then quit all together. Ford replaced the motor about a year ago, it has hesitated opening once, but no other probs since.
i've had a time with all my windows and switchs at persent i'v had all my motors changed out 2ce and all my switches changed out. my master switch changed out 4 times and passenger switch changed 3 times. i dont know what ford changed to but their new stuff stinks.
This was one of two problems I ever had with my 04, the dealer repaced the motor assembly. It seems that a lot of folks that had the cab stop light leak had this same problem, so I can only surmize the leak caused water to get into the motor.
Ok, so I'm driving in to the dealership to get my rear window looked. About a mile from the dealer I decide to push the switch. I push it and the window opens. I open it and close it about twenty times and it works great. Its been five days since then and it still works.
I asked the service guy about it and he said they wouldnt look at it because it wasnt broken. Dont ya just love dealerships? Everytime I've been to Jennings-Anderson Ford in Boerne I get the same BS run around.
That happened to me a couple of times and I always figured the switch had a dirty contact. I finally just left it alone the next time it didn't work and took it into them that way.
Village Ford is no better. My truck would just stall out of the blue for over a year and because it didn't kick a code they said it couldn't be the processor and that it was because I didn't buy the Flexible Fuel option which meant I couldn't burn Mobil or Shell gas.
My rear window stuck two or three months ago. My Ford service department said that the windows can "stick" if they are not used consistently. Since I had just been through the winter when I rarely opened the slider, it made sense to me.
Mine begain working after I tried the switch several times over the span of a few miles of highway driving. I've not had any problems since now that I'm using it in the Spring/Summer.
i had the same problem with mine and at first the dealer told me it was a bad switch and then it quit working again. So now i just had the whole works replaced so we'll see how it holds up now

Now that is funny. What you have here is one dumb *** dealership. Run dont walk, RUN away from there as fast as you can.
Long, long, story on that one. Even when it came in on a wrecker and would do nothing but idle at 400 rpm they couldn't get a code so they wouldn't replace the processor and the regional Ford rep sided with them. It took over a year but they ended up paying my attorney alone more than twice the amount that I asked them to bump my trade-in allowance so I could've bought another one.
I hope my new Mark LT works out better than the 2004 FX/4. I still really liked that truck a lot even with all of the problems. They sure wasted a lot of Ford money by playing their little gas game, though.
