diesel additive

hello,
I have a 04 F250 with the 6.0L. i bought the truck used it had about 66,000kms it now has 112,000 with a few little bugs at first. the truck has been chiped all its life (the dealer sold it with the previous owners chip still intact). i started runnin the ford diesel additive (Red bottle) after the truck had a few bugs, including a EGR replacment. im happy with the results, smoother idles, MPG increase. today at work i was talkin to the shop mechanic ( works on the company semi's n trailers) he had a bottle of Howes diesel treatment. said it makes a BIG difference in most of the semis he puts it in. I told him about the ford stuff im usin, he laughed and told me he can get me all the Fuel conditioner i want for nuthin. basicially i was wonderin if anyone has run the Howes additive in our Famous 6.0L and how thier results were, the only reason id switch is he can get it from the company and it wont cost me a dime. is it worth the try, or stick with whats workin? input, thoughts, and ideas welcome, thanks.

There are some user's of Howe's here but, I think not many. I personally cannot recall reading of any negative effects.

The MSDS does not immediately come to mind so the biggest caution i have is make sure it contains no alcohol.
