tire sizing

I have a 99 2wd explorer sport. Currently there are 235 75 r15's on but I would like to go bigger. What is the biggest tire I can fit without causing problems? I dont think I want to go wider but I would like to go taller. This is on stock rims as well.

Taller might help your hwy fuel mileage maybe 1 mpg, unless you put your foot into it to compensate for slightly less get up and go. Don't go crazy or it might look funny, like on stilts! Your speedo will read wrong too.
