Hopefully the link works this time. The posters I've seen around town say the show runs from 9:00 to 5:00, don't know what's up with that. I'm sure I'll be wandering around for part of the day.
Looks like they run the 3rd of every month. I happened to be out and see them in May. Like me, there were many people standing around and oogeling the cars as they went by; sweeeet.
I talked to the owner of D'Deli (my neighbor Al), he'll give a 20% discount to anyone who can say "Ford truck club".
The address is 1207 Washington. It's across 12th from the Buffalo Rose, look for little tables out on the sidewalk. Al also has a vend on the back porch of the Pioneer Museum (facing Clear Creek) "grilling burgers and dogs". Stop in, get hooked, swear off McSubway! LOL
Hypoid, I'll have to wait to see ya at Fordfest. You're goin aren't ya? You gotta watch me (Not) break my truck this year, and Gene's gonna run his JT with a fresh 390....
Thinking about it, the twins, the cost, the sibling rivalry... To use my dadly quote: "I'll keep an open mind".
Eliminations @ 1:00, show awards @ 3:00, I guess it would be easy enough to have some braats ready for grilling by the time it's over. I wonder how much those discount spectator tickets cost.
Hey Mike, that's ok, I understand. I agree $12 a person is a little steep! But we'll be there 12hrs or so to get our money worth haha. Can you pass your boys for under 12?!?!
I went to Golden this morning. Had a great time. Too early to eat at D'Deli, just bought drinks. I wish there would have being more '50s era Ford. I wanted to see something with Y-blocks. But had a wonderful time.
I think I'll be drooling for a few days. LOL
I was busy with the momombile, didn't get to the show 'till 3:00. My old partner-in-grime came up from Aurora. The 2 hours we had left seemed to evaporate. So many awesome cars, so little time, not even a working camera.

$12 a ticket = $36 to get in = 1 1/2 trips to the fast food... That's not really a lot these days, it's just the starting point of spending a lot; something about teenage boys and food. 12 hours, wow! That's a lot of food stands to walk past as they watch me wander aimlessly. LOL
Discount tickets, a condensed visit, activities for a range of people: They don't call me "Superdad" for nothing. It just takes an open mind and the willingness to change plans at the drop of a hat. LOL It would help if you had an idea of when you and Gene would be running. That would pretty much anchor the day for me.
BTW Dave58:Happy Birthday ya old buzzard!!!LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL
It was a great birthday. I especially like the arrest-me-red '65 (I tink) F-100. After the Golden Show we took my wife's 2001 Escape up the Saxon Mountain 4x4 trail near Georgetown. This trail was mentioned on the Rocky Mountain Ford Truck Club webpage. We had a great time. The Escape drove well. I suppose if the trai got wet, rutted or looser the Escape wouldn't have been able to get to the top. All total, left Denver at noon, at Georgetown by 12:30, top of Saxon Mountain by 2:30, back home and at my daughter's dance recital by 5:30.
