best power programmer
ok i got an 04 f-150 with a k&n airfilter system and a flowmaster catback dual exhaust system. those two items alone have givem me alot more horsepower and way better fuel mileage now i am looking at bumping the horsepower up a little more. i guess i was wonder what is the best power programmer for the money? i guess i would like to find one for about 300 or less, but you know what they say you can wish in this hand and well you know what in the other one. hey thanx guys i am starting to really like this websight.

ok what makes the edge better then the others? and how should i set up the power programmer the best for what i have for timing and fuel and stuff? and if i set it up for the most horsepower will that give me the best fuel consumption or will it make it worse? i am not complaining about my fuel consumption i am actually pretty impressed but i just don't want to get something that makes me go one step ahead and one step behind.

Fuel consumption is directly related to your RIGHT FOOT! If you drive like a sane individual you will see decent fuel consumption. If you drive like Dale Earndhart... your fuel mileage will suffer greatly.
The Edge programmer has 3 levels to choose from.
1= trans only. This mode will allow you to adjust trans shift points and duration. It will also allow for gear ratio calibration and tire size calibration.
2= tow mode. Does all of the above plus adjust for extra loads. You can adjust timing, WOT fuel, rev limiter, speed limiter, ect ect ect. Just about every item you would want to adjust. It will also allow you to run 87 octane fuel.
3= performance mode. Same as above with much more power. You need to run plus or premium fuel. Go to the Edge website and check it out.
In addition to a programmer the Edge will monitor all the vitals of your truck. Such as Trans, oil, coolant temp. It will monitor RPM MPH and cylinderhead temps. It monitors intake temp. It will display 1/4 mile times along with 0-60 times.
The Evolution come with everything you need to get up and running. Including the pod and cables.
Go to discount power parts and talk to the guys there. THey are a great bunch. They should be bye shortly to answer any questions I might have not answered. I love my EDGE!
