setting clock spring

I am replacing a tilt column in my 96 F-150. I had to have a lock smith drill out the ignition lock because the place where i bought the column lost the keys. The lock smith told me to make sure i reset the clock spring before i install it. I searched for about an hour and found lots of threads on clock springs but none on setting it. Can anyone give me a quick how too on setting the clock spring. Thanks in advance for any help.

in ford service manual i think it is called air bag sliding contact winding and it does not have any reset info.

does it say anything about centering? I am sure someone here has done it before.

it is like 50 pages long and it only shows how circuit works.

i have never had mine apart.

was he talking about reseting the lock?

if you replaced lock cylinder why do you have to worry about clockspring?

edit: on the very last page it refered my to adjusting sliding contact.

i do not feel like typing it in and it includes a drawing. i will photograph it and email it to you sometime late this afternoon.
