I just had a c6 rebuilt out of a 79 250,it has about 3-4K on it.I like to change the fluid and screen. It looks simple to do: drop the pan and undo the filter.
Anything special I need to look for?Just need to find a oversized drain pan now.
That's pretty much all there is to it. Watch your fluid and screen for debris so you can be sure there's no issues with the clutches or bushings.
For what it's worth, aftermarket pans like the TCI are really nice to swap in for 2 reasons. First, they'll give you several more quarts capacity and help cool the fluid. Second, they have a drain plug which makes the job sooooo much nicer.
Not to bad of a job.No slivers and just a little bit of sparkle. There was some grayish slugde build up on the bottom of the pan, fluid was nice and red. Thanks for the help.
