System memory, or graphics memory Daze? You can get 256MB dedicated graphics memory with Radeon Mobility X1600 graphics chipsets. Thats a dedicated graphics processing unit. Not to mention that that processor then supports what is called "Hypermemory" which basically allows it to allocate up to another 256MB of system DDR2 ram to graphics duty, thus giving you a 256MB high-speed, 256MB "low-speed" (still as fast as the bus, which is blazing).
I prefer desktops, but I want the mobility and setting up just abotu anywhere of the laptop now. Plus, I think I'm gonna give my dad my desktop computer (minus my 250GB hard drive...he can have the 20GB =P) and have him buy a new monitor for it and that way he can finally have a comptuer.
I can't get Newegg to quit having a fit over my address and whatnot..I'm abotu to buy a 600-700 dollar laptop out of pocket and be done with it...but I don't want to do that.
dell from personal experience, you can get very good deals from dell on their website. they have refurbished and returns that they sell cheap.
we use dells in the Navy, while i was the LAN guy on the sub, i never had a prob with one.
my dad owns about 8 dells, he uses them for work, each one has a custom engineering program in it, they all work well, no crashes with them. the common one he uses for everything is the XPS, really good for games, but he uses it for programs.
Yeah, sorry about my last post, here is the link to that computer i saw. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16834224054
I think i'm going to go with it. Is the 2.0 GHZ processor worth the extra 200$? I noticed that the 1.8 was only 1,199$
Dell Latitude. Use one daily to input orders, do quotes, all wireless. Have a Lexmark printer in the back seat running from my power point in the Supercrew cab, right rear. On job sites daily, off road daily. I keep it in a padded case when not in use and use a sony-ericcson wireless card with Cingular as the carrier. First Inspiron lasted 8 years, Latitude going on three years with no issues. Use the desktop at home (Dell also) to game. Laptop is for work using a Symantec VPN with the wireless.
