New 400 Tuning?
I just recently installed a relatively new 400 into my truck. The motor has fenderwell headers, edelbrock intake, cam, and 1406 carb. I go tthe motor running sweet at idle and everything until the secondaries open. I hadnt had time to work on it cause i found a oil leak, and I believe that it was coming from the intake manifold gasket so I changed that. Anyway, like I said that truck runs fine until u get open the secondaries. If I gradually go to full throttle it runs fine, but if I punch it staright to WOT it will pop real loud once, stumble then go fast. What do you guys suggest I do? I think I need to go richer but thats why I am asking you guys... let me know..thanks.

Sounds like the upper flap os opening too fast. Is your vacuum advance hooked up to the passengerside port on the front of the carb? Is the advance working? You may also try moving the accelerator pump rod to a different hole. It may eliminate the bog.
