block heaters

Anyone know if the '97 PSD came with a block heater installed stock with the cord being the "option" like in later model years?

Where would I look to see if I have the heater..I know I don't have the plug

The weez, you are trying to learn everthing, aren't you. The block heater is located above the oil filter, it goes through the oil filter/cooler housing into a water jacket. Some times the cords are twisted up and tied to the frame. Locate the block heater and see if the cord is attached, then follow the cord. I have never had to by a cord, only the complete unit, so I do not know if the cord alone is available or not. If you need the complete unit go to powerstrokeshop-dot-com and type in part # PSM/3500043, it is around $33.

Thanks for the info...and yes I am trying to soak it all up. Finally got something to toy with so anything I hear that sounds interesting I like to follow up on.
