Help with EEC/PCM

Hi,
I have a 1992 F150 with the I6 4.9L and the E40D transmission. I've had it for about two years and it has run great until recently. It either runs good or bad and changes every ten minutes or so. When it runs "good" there are no problems and no error codes, only 111, everything OK.
When it runs bad......
The fuel pumps runs constantly in KOEO instead of only running two seconds.
The check engine light stays on.... the engine runs rough and rich... lacks power. After awhile it will instantly start running good. The check engine light will go out, without restarting the engine.
If you try to read the codes when the engine is in bad mode, the light doesn't flash at all.
If you check the codes when it's in good mode, it is normal and the only code is 111. It doesn't store any error codes even though the check engine light was on before.
Because the check engine light goes out with the engine still running and the fact that it doesn't store any codes I'm thinking the EEC is bad or hopefully has a bad connection. Also the fuel pump is directly contolled by the EEC. Any Ideas? By the way, I haven't located the EEC yet, does anyone know whe it is???
Thanks, Paul
