strange shifting
Has anybody ever had any trouble with a loose battery cable affecting the shifting on an E4OD? (shifting at the wrong speeds and occasional flashing od light.) I know it sounds strange but since everything is controlled electronically could a loose connection cause this kind of problem?

the last time the od light flashed, it did not store a code. The shop is starting to think I am crazy. Last fall it was doing the same thing. Dealer pulled codes and replaced vss. Continued to do the same thing, this time- no codes. I tightened a loose battery cable and no more problem. Couple weeks ago-same thing. I found another loose cable. Unhooked all cables, cleaned them and TIGHTENED them. Appears to be ok now. Is this coincidence? The shop couldn't find anything wrong but as drivers, we know when something is not quite right.

Since everything in the truck, especially the computer, relies on reliable, stable operating power, a loose or intermittent power connection can cause all kinds of operational problems.
Additionally, there is a single 5A fuse that supplies Keep Alive Memory (KAM) to the PCM. If this fuse or its supply is faulty, the PCM will not retain otherwise stored codes.
