Fuel Pressure Ideas
i put the check valve in. go out for a test with pressure set at 65psi at idle. then make a run and get 25psi of boost. say the pump can only keep up with 80 psi, being conservative. how do i get the pressure out of the line between the CV and the regulator?? once i let off the boost the CV will close and keep the trapped air in. somone mentioned something about an electronic dump valve? i have enough switches to hit while im driving, and the last thing i need to worry about is dumping the excess fuel pressure every time i let boost out.
by the way, has anyone ever seen a regulator fail, or is this all for preventing raw fuel from going into your engine in the unlikely event of a failure?
Here's the link to a quick exhaust valve. And yes, they work well. I use them here at work all the time. They vent 180psi in no time flat. Here's a link to the quick exhaust http://www.deltrolfluid.com/pdfin-line/in-line17.pdf
Read the principal of operation. The "cylinder" in the principal of operation is the fuel regulator. The boost line will vent through the check valve via the manifold.
In all actuality, you could install a quick exhaust valve (QEV) and not a check valve. QEV closes to let boost go to the regulator. Once fuel pressure (60-90psi) ruptures the diaphragm it will have greater pressure than the boost pressure (25-30psi) and will exhaust the diesel out of the outlet.....
Is that confusing enough for ya!!!
