power steering
the ranger im going to buy doesnt come with power steering...im not sure why but w/e i was wondering if it was possible to install it and if so what parts/money will i need for this its a 97 2.3l 5 spd standard ranger. thanks

If you need power steering this bad, buy a Ranger with P/S already on it!!!!
Otherwise the lightweight 4 banger won't likely need it.
To add it on later, will be a major task imo, involving many things, too numerous to list!!!!

Besides, think of the money you'll save. You'll be building up those arms without having to pay a gym membership!

My Ranger is my FIRST vehicle with power steering. Non P/S vehicles have gearboxes with better ratios to make the chore more than tolerable.
Trust me, the Ford power steering box whine is annoying. You won't miss it and rarely did I ever have a time I wished for power steering in my previous vehicles. I'm not going to waste effort pulling mine, but still....
As mentioned, though, you are getting a BARE BONES model. Steering wheel and tires are OPTIONAL in this case. Heh. Get what you really want that's in your budget. I've heard way too many stories of buying brand new stripped models with no AC or PS when a lesser cost/slightly older version of that vehicle that was loaded with options could have easily been had.
