converter clutch error

I have a 93 F150 5.0

I pulled codes to recive a 628 according to the chiltons it's a converter clutch error...

I guess this means the TQ is slipping is this right ?

also this truck runs like crap I was wondering these code readers are NOT gospel are they ?
