i have a 92 f150 4.9 with e40d tranny, i ran the codes and got on the koeo 332,327,634 on the continuos codes it was 332,634 a/c was NOT on and on the engine running i got 116, 213,332 and 632...i think if i replace the egr valve position this will get rid of ssome of the problems, what i am not sure of is the 213 spout circut open and how to remidy that also the 632 overdrive cancel switch not changing status, the transmission is shifting hard it seems after i drive a few miles, but it is not continuos, sometimes it shift smooth..i just put in a new rebuilt engine and am a little low on money..can i replace sensors in the transmission myself? any help will be greatly appreciated...thanks guys, Bobby
Sounds like you have a few different problems going on. I would take care of the 116 which is a coolant temp sensor problem. If the computer thinks that the engine is never warming up it will effect a number of sytems on your engine. This 116 code could be causing the egr valve problem. The egr valve only operates if the motor is warmed up, above an idle and the vechicle actually moving. Fix this problem 1st and then re-check codes to see what is left to look at. The spout code (213) has to do with your distributor. Not sure if the coolant temp problem is causing this or not. If you don't get any other suggestion in this forum try the electrical one. Hope this helps you out some.
1º Check wiring/conector at coolant Temp. sensor, if this not fix, then replace sensor.
2º Check wiring/conector at MLP sensor, if this not fix, then replace sensor. Be sure there is not water geting inside connector and it is poroperly calibrated.
3º Check wiring/conector at EGR valve sensor, if this not fix, then replace sensor.
4º Check wiring/conector at Ignition module. Check wire continuity between Ignition module and ECM computer. To fix SPOUT problem this is causing also ugly idle & fuel economy, low engine power and probably no proper RPM reading at cluster.
Coolant sensor and MLP sensor cause tranny shift rought. MLP sensor is external to tranny so can be replace vey easy.
You did not state how you got the codes, but you are supposed to hit the OD cancel , turn the steering, and or hit the brake during the test. If you didn't do the OD cancel switch, that could be the reason for the OD code.
