On my 91 F-150 w/5.0L engine the air runs for about 20 minutes then kicks out when engine starts out cold, but on a recent trip to FL from SC air would blow cool(not cold) as long as I was going over 70 mph. Today I ran air until it kicked out (on way home from work)and I left engine running and checked freon pressures. I found that compressor was not on, low pressure side was at 90psi and high pressure side was at 100 psi? I was also wondering about fan clutch, shouldn't there be some drag when I try to rotate fan with engine hot? it spins with no resistance at all. The air conditioning system is all still original w/R-12 freon. On the cooling side I replaced the radiator last year. Any assistance would be much appreciated.
