As I was driving into Florida on I-75 I noticed a bill board payed for by the Brady Gun folks. It was a warning to tourists that Florida residents are allowed to use lethal force to prevent personal injury during a crime. Was this a warning to criminals that if they mess around in Florida they could wake up dead or a feeble attempt to get tourists to stop visiting Florida?
I know Brady was shot in the assassination attempt on Ronald Reagan. It's a shame. And it's a shame that a deranged person can take a fire arm and do such a thing. But what about the deranged people involved with Oklahoma City? I don't see an outcry from certain groups to outlaw fertilizer or rental trucks.
I'd guess it's there lame attempt to say "Shame on YOU Florida!" Although if I were thinking of pulling a B&E I'd think twice about doing it there.
In case you haven't noticed, most fertilizer companies have stopped making ammonium nitrate due to public outcry. Not because it wasn't a superior fertilizer, but because it can be made into ANFO explosive. So in a sense, this type of fertilizer has been outlawed. The only companies making it now are making it for explosives only.
The Brady billboard was a lame attempt to keep tourists from going to Florida. Heck I think I'll go now.
Interesting that crime has fallen in Florida since they passed the new law.
Won't get into the progun/antigun arguments, but interesting that when gun laws get tougher, very often crime goes up(UK, Australia, Canada, etc), and when gun rights laws go in effect crime goes down, strange ain't it, or is it that criminals have more sense than politicians. But of course that is no basis on which to decide new guns laws, now is it.

maybe out there, but you can still buy ammonium nitrate here in jersey with no problems. i just picked up 4 tons for a farmer in town last week.
Did you have to fill out any paperwork or show ID with that load of NH4NO3? Typically replaced with ammonium sulfate or urea out here.
I thought when I clicked on "The Brady Bunch" it was going to be a Jan vs. Marcia discussion (there's times when I would settle for Mrs. Brady or even Alice).
only filled out 1 form, and that was a bill of lading with the ag number and destination. but we have had to fill that form out for at least 25 years, and are well known, as it is the only fertilizer dealer that he buys from. and he normally gets 40-50 ton per year.
Which is why the government should be a minimum wage job. If they're gonna steal millions, why pay them a lot legally? Of course then the bottom feeders of society would drift into the job, but could they really do any worse then these so-called intellectuals?
