gas guage problem

I know that you all have the same gas gauge problem as me, 'it goes down too quickly".

But I have another problem. This is a 2006 F250 V10. A week or so ago I filled up with gas, got in and turned the truck on. Gas gauge did not go anywhere, stayed at about 1/4 tank. As I drove over the next 40 or 50 miles the needle slowly moved up to full. Then it worked normally. I did a couple tanks and everything was back to normal and working fine until today. I filled up, and because of the last problem I was keeping an eye on it, when I started the truck the needle shot up to full, but immediately dropped to empty and so did all of the other gauges, truck kept running and never missed a beat. I turned it off and started it again and all of the other gauges began working properly but the fuel gauge still says empty. I have not driven very far but it looks like it is going to work its way up again.

I am sure I will have to take it to the dealer on this, but it is probably an electrical problem which will not happen when it is there, which means I will get stuck taking it back about a dozen times. Anybody else had this problem or heard of it and what the cause may be?

Yep, there've been discussions about it, maybe 9 to 12 months ago. Should be able to find something searching for "gas gauge". There's got to be a TSB, maybe some one knows it?
