Is there a plug-in adapter to change from a 4-wire towing connector to a 7 wire connector? I have a 2000 Ranger 4x4, 4.0 liter engine, and stock towing package. I bought a trailer that has brakes, a battery, etc. I know that I have to put a brake controller in. Is there stock wiring in place for it?
There is no "plug in" that converts it to 7 pin set up. There is a 7 pin plug that will connect into the stock 4 pin connector, BUT you still have to run the wires for the brake controller, aux power, and back-up lights. It's not that hard. Took me about 2 hrs to run the wires. This the plug you need, and I have a couple pics of my brake controller & plug on my car domain site.
