03 Eddie Bauer Expedition W/electrical problems
I have an '03 Eddie Bauer Expedition that is having electrical problems. It has been in the shop twice for the same thing within 2 weeks. I am hoping that someone can help me understand what is happening so that I can let the service department know. They honestly have NO clue how to fix this.
Here is what is happening: While driving down the road, not towing anything, the blinkers, auto darkening on the rearview mirror and the heat/cooling on the front seats stops working (and blows the fuse). Prior to going in the shop the first time, we were replacing fuses and they were blowing as fast as we were putting them in. The service department where we took it reprogramed the computer and thought that would fix it. However, less then 2 weeks later, we have the exact same problem. The first time it happened, it was at night and the second time it happened, it was through the day and none of the items on that circuit were in use.
We are at a complete loss and so is the service department. They have no idea how to fix it and have admitted that.
Has anyone else had this problem? How was it fixed?
Thanks for your help with this matter.
Mike
You have a short to ground in the common wiring for those items. Should not be hard to track down. Try an independent shop with a good electrical person. Never keep replacing fuses, -find the short before you "fire up" your vehicle...

I can't believe the shop tried to "reprogram the computer"...
Like Torque1st sez find a GOOD indepedant shop.
After it's fixed, go back to the shop that reprogrammed the computer and get your money back. What did they charge you?
