Anyone EVER have this happen??? Driving along - coasting downhill and go to accelerate at the bottom of the hill and the pedal didn't just go to the floor the friggin mount broke loose and the pedal's danglin near the floorboard. This was a first for me for sure. Pulled over to see what gave loose and it seems that instead of mounting the pedal with two bolts as is obviously the intent for this mount (two holes are pre-drilled) It seems Ford decided to tack weld this thing on with three very small (about 1/4" - 3/8" dia.) tac welds around the pre-drilled holes (one top - one center - one below) and all three gave loose. Now I've been called a lead foot but this sick joke takes it too far.
I'll admit its 10 years old now but damn this is a pretty serious mount and I think it would be engineered to last at least as long as the vehicle. Anyone else ever had this happen? I'll scour the forum to see ....
