carb problem update...help
OK guys I know I have posted on this four times but I really want to get this done right the first time. I drive this truck everyday. Now to catch everyone up. Truck used to hold idle at 600 to 650 rpms. Then it started surging at idle. Then it started surging and dropping rpms untill it died. I adjusted the idle were it would idle at 900 rpms. Anything less than that and it would surge, loose rpm and die. Now, it still surges, just up and down around 800 rpm. It will constantly bounce from 700 to 900 rpm. When I turn the key off while it is idling at 800ish rpms, it will continue to run rough for a second and then die w/ a big back fire out of the pipes. I have the rebuild kit, I'm just hoping that someone can point me to something specific to look for. It has a new fuel pump and a new fuel filter at the carb.
