monsterbaby dyno

My engine builer has a dyno but it costs $450.00 to run it on the dyno,so I would like to get a rough estimate from the human dyno.(monster baby)I have a 460 thats .60 over with forged pistons, clevlite bearings 8 qaurt moroso pan,1.7 comp roller rockers,a big comp cam not sure the specs my motoruy said with cam I would have to run a 2800 to 3000 stall or the motor will will die when I put in gear,Im running 1969 429 licoln high compression heads(d9ve-c i think that was the casting number)comp 1.7 roller rocker, perfomer intake with a demon 825 carb hei distributor, moly rings,He said it would only run on a mix of premium and av gas.10:5 to 1 compression thats what I can remember I was shooting for 500 horse am I way under thanks for any estimate I had it built for bracket racing my 66 F-100 I have a C6 with a stage 2 kit and a 9" with 4:11 gears and a billet mini spool any suggestions

I say 500 to 550 should be easily expected. Get cam specs and head flow numbers and someone can really ballpark you in.

That's fairly similar to my old engine and it was about 550hp.

without cam specs it's kinda hard to speculate, but if you need a 2800-3000 stall you need a different intake. the performer is half way done before your stall even begins to work. May I suggest a min of a weiand stealth, but if it's a race only engine, and your running a 3000 stall you might even consider running a victor which will cost you a little low end but really wake up the top end.
Joining hte NW chapter is easy on the main forums list scroll down to the chapters and then when you get to the NW chapter, hit "join chapter" and Ivan will do the rest.

Demon carbs are pretty decent I ran a 825 demon on a 351c a couple of years ago, it's now on top of a 460 that runs pretty decent. If your running it mostly on the street and looking for fuel economy then the 750 but on a engine mostly for racing the 825 demon is gonna be a better choice.

either carb will work for both, the edelbrock is gonna give you a little better fuel economy on the street, adn the demon is gonna give you more power on the strip. I think that for street manners at lower rpms they are going to be similar, with the edelbrock maybe giving you just a little better off idle response.
