Bold MOves

IS Fords new saying "Bold Moves", does that replace "built ford tuff"?

Then perhaps they better yank their heads out of the sand and make some.

the 500, Fusion, old Focus, sadly in need of a renovation Ranger, Crown Vic all all duds IMO, and wayyyyyy wayyyy to mediocre for me to consider.

They start building those HOT Aussie Falcons up here, they'd have something to brag about.

If there isn't any fords you would consider why are you trolling here? Isn't there another car company you can bash? I happen to like the fusion, 500, focus, mustang, and ranger. I love my 04 ranger 4x4, it's my 5th ranger, and the only thing the ranger needs is a crewcab, and a 4 cyclinder diesel. Not for me, but for those's who might need it. I also rate my 06 zx3 5-speed focus, I just need to get that focus sport turbo, and I'll be golden. I have never seen a forum that bashes the company so bad that the forum repersents. Just about every post, there's people bashing ford, it's getting old, and sickening, opinions one thing, but this constant bitching about everything ford does is for bottom feeders. Maybe you will get your way, and ford will go under, then you can hop back over to the gm, or toyota forums where you belong. I think some of us here are getting offended by this constant ford hateing. We come here because we love, and drive fords, or a ford. If we wanted to here this crap, we would troll the other sites, instead of comming here to our homebase where our brand of choice you would think might get some respect from time to time.

Trolling?
apparently you have me mistaken for some Chebby guy my friend.
Check the Sig... 4 Ford trucks, 1927-1972.
Just because I AM a Ford truck enthusiast with 1150 posts to that effect, junior, doesn't mean I can't see the forest for the trees at Ford.
I WANT them to be around a long, long time. Can't see that happening with the flaws I posted in their lineup.

If you love the Fords you have, fine, so do I. But they better get with the program , and quick, or they won't be around for us to say that in the future.

So get your nose back in joint, pal and don't be callin' me no troll. Makes you sound like someone just spoiling for a fight to me.

Your the one calling the ranger a dude, and what renovation does the 500, and fusion need, the are both very classy vehicles with style and function. But if you want to get down to it, all they both need is the 3.5 v6, and the fusion a manual option with the v6, there fixed. The focus needs a turbo option like thier european brothers, and another svt version, but I don't think we will get that here, or maybe we will. There will be a new ranger in 09, it may not be called a ranger, jury is still out on that one. Ford is doing alot of things that people don't know about yet, but will, there's a huricane a comming. The bronco is comming back, and it ain't no front wheel drive either. Fords gonna shock and awe alot of people in the near future. Bill isn't gonna roll over and play dead, he's a Ford. My coments weren't directed at you as such, but more so to the stuff that goes on in this forum, you must addmitt, not everybody, but enough to get my ford blue blood a boiling. If I miss read you I'm sorry, as a fellow ford guy, you know this stuff can be dishearting sometimes. I know ford has let some of thier vehicles die a slow death, like the taraus, it went from the best selling car in america, to a fleet car. The ranger is an icon, but it sure could use a crewcab to compete, not a sport-trac subsitute, thou the new sport-trac is nice and a v8 to boot. I am sorry, I thought your were a chebbie guy sneaking over here to beat on us, I should have read your guru status. I allways like making new ford buddies, and there's nothing wrong with constructive critisium, I thought you hated fords. I'm glad to see your a ford truck nut like myself, or just fords period. You gotta like the new mustang, especialy the shelby, thats retro that works. I'll talk to you later buddy !!!!!!!!

Tell me about it. . . Car and Driver had a cool write up about some of the Aussie Fords. Now tell me the Falcon FPV GT BOSS 290 does not make you drool, or even the Falcon UTE.

http://www.caranddriver.com/features/11036/features-review-2006-ford-falcon-fpv-gt-boss-290-falcon-xr6-turbo-focus-st-and-territory-ghia-awd.html

Ford is a World company, why they aren't building these things here is a mystery to me. . . I'd buy a nicely priced rear wheel drived family car with a six speed manual in a heart beat.

What we need IS the European Focus -- ours is still the old version which has been refreshed and is way behind. . . Ford claims it's too expensive to build the European Focus over here.

I think Ford should make a BOLD MOVE and put some QUALITY back into their product.

I have owned Fords for over 35 years, many of them. I am no troll, nor basher. I am speaking of what I see. The newer trucks are head and shoulders above the older ones for creature comforts, and in a lot of respects dependability.

I am considering getting an '06 SCREW now that I can get a 6.5' bed. The problem is the current platform has been built since mid '03. There are still steering wheel nibble problems, driveline vibration and rear axle problems, A/C problems, cam phaser problems, hesitation problems, spark plugs that break off in the heads, and cloth seats that stain from plain water.

These are not all of the things I read about daily. Look on E-bay at all the late model, low mileage F-150's for sale. Something is wrong here.

This may sound like bashing, but it is not. There are many owners who are happy and have a very good truck. There are also many who are not happy.

There is no excuse for the same problems to be happening three years into the production run. Make a Bold Move and fix these things Ford. Oh I forgot, your reps have said these trucks are "operating as designed", and "normal".

I would like to replace my faithful '87 with a new '06, but I don't want to play the lottery and end up with a 35k mistake. I don't drive many miles, and the truck would be out of warranty long before many miles were run up, leaving me stuck with large repair bills if my truck happened to be one of "those".

My '03 Expedition has a knock in the drivers side cylinder head at idle, rear axle whine at 45-60 mph,(reduced considerably after changing out Fords permanent axle fluid) with just 42k. I am one of the lucky ones. A lot have much worse problems than mine.

I don't want to hear that all mfgs have their problems, I know that, but I am talking about Ford now. It is how they take care of the customer to fix their problem, and also change things at the factory to make sure the latest vehicles off the line are fixed. Ford for the most part is very poor at doing this.

It is very sad when a person is thrilled their 40k truck has "only" had to be back to the dealer 3 or 4 times in a year for warranty service.

Make some Bold Moves, use quality parts, repair what is out there instead of denying a problem, pay the techs enough that the good ones stay and are willing to put enough time into a problem to fix it. When Ford pays .25 to fix a problem that should take 1.5, then the repair suffers. Read Flat Rate.com and see the disgust.

I guess I am in a bad mood. I don't mean to come off wrong, or insult anyone. I am just disgusted that a once great company is constantly loseing market share from pure ignorance.

Build a good product and stand behind it and car and truck sales will take care of itself.

Thats my rant and I'm sticking to it.

All right now that we are all friends again, yes we need the Europen Focus and yes, it is an absolute mystery to me why Ford already has done the R&D on great cars like the Falcon Ute, and the Diesel Ranger, and we continue to get dinosaurs like the Crown Vic.

If Ford wanted to build a ground pounder they should have built the 427 v10 dream car , instead it came out as the Fusion. Dissapointment is not a big enough word to describe that debacle. Like going to a pay toilet and all that comes out is a fart.

Yes the Shelby is a marvellous car with waiting lists a mile long. So Ford only builds 7500 of them, then lets their dealers auction off the rights to buy them on ebay at $20,000 over the ticket price. What is wrong with that picture? Ford, you HAVE a winner, cash in on it !! instead of your chicken excrement dealers pulling a fast one.. quadruple the run! 10-fold would be better,, thats how many people are on the lists waiting to buy one!

Like I said before.. get your head out of the sand..

"Built Ford Tough" was just the slogan for the trucks.
Im kinda confused about why Ford chose, "bold moves" as their new slogan though. What has Ford done lately that could be considered a "bold move"?

Theres nothing wrong with ford guys ranting about the products they love, we deserve the right to try and clean our own house, since were the ones that buy the product.I have driven fords my whole life, and have never had a major issue, my current ranger, and focus are no exceptions, maybe I've been lucky, but with the ranger, it's a tried and true plateform, maybe alittle long in the tooth, but I love it. I don't know why when seearching ford world web sites, they get exciting products, and we get bored in comparision, minus the shelby, and gt 40, that are both limlted production, and expensive. In the mussle car erea, ford, and america were the invy of the world, now were left licking our chops looking at the worlds fords, what happened? I also believe, " IF YOU BUILD IT, THEY WILL COME"

I also fogot to mention that I know an insider at ford who tells me that there is some exciting products on the boards, and on the way. One is an all new offroad capable bronco thats set to take a share of the jeep wrangler market. An SVT fusion, a new lighting f-150, that will smoke the srt 10, and a huricane is comming, but he couldn't say much more for now. Ford needs to take the lead, instead of following, there to slow to react at times, it seems thier allways playing catchup, but that is all supost to change in the future. They are doing some impressive stuff with alternitive fuel reaserch, like a 60 mpg hydrogene powered f-150. How would you like to see a ford roadster simular to the miata? The lincoln line is going to be getting alot of attention, Lord knows it needs it, caddy is killing us. With ford owning so many great companies around the world like volvo, and land rover to name a few, there's going to be alot of plateform sharing, and great products comming, the future sounds exciting, I just hope it pans out, and isn't just talk.
